Q: Why should I hire a speechwriter?
- To save time.
Finding perfect words is difficult. Even though you may have a lot to say, your schedule doesn’t always lend itself to the time required to write an impactful speech. There’s so much to think about and so much to remember – not to mention juggling other projects on your plate. Hiring a speechwriter eliminates the need for you to spend grueling hours trying to put the right words together. It means having partner whose job it is to make you sound your best.
- To be original.
Originality is a rarity. How many speeches have you listened to that start the same way? How many don’t captivate? How many just don’t measure up in authenticity and ring unimaginative or canned? Hiring a speechwriter will help you avoid becoming a part of this group of speakers. Authenticity and originality is the combination that translates to memorable words – words that can bring an audience to its feet, words that can shake the world. Cheril’s deliberate and collaborative approach allows her to capture your voice in way people will recognize as familiar but stronger. She will work with you until you’re fully satisfied with a speech that was literally hand-crafted.
- To make an impact.
Impact drives income. It builds legacies, touching hearts and challenging minds. Delivering a strong speech can inspire an audience to improve their community. It can inspire employees to be more dedicated, and touch family members in a way they’ll never forget. Hiring a speechwriter will help you engage your audience instead of leaving them wishing they were somewhere else.
Q: What is your rate for a 30-minute speech?
It varies. To give you an idea of industry standards, however, The Writer’s Market suggests a minimum rate of $2,700 for a 30-minute speech from a professional. With that being said, my services and rates are flexible with regard to price, depending on the type of project. See below for more information.
Q: Can you just give me a ballpark figure for a social speech?
Sure. For social speeches such as weddings and funerals, the cost is approximately $500 for a two-minute speech. Anything longer will require a custom quote.
Q: Can you tell me a ballpark figure for corporate or political speeches?
Speeches for corporate, political, and investor relations audiences are vastly different from social talks. They require meticulous research and analysis of many moving parts.
While social talks usually rely heavily on personal stories, recollections, and anecdotes, corporate and political speeches have to be thoroughly researched. Having to be cross-checked with other communication goals and legal compliance, they also need to be written in a way that demonstrates the speaker has a thorough understanding of cultural competency, and much more. Because of these variables, the time it takes can vary widely and thus requires a custom quote.
Q: Can I see samples of your work first?
